ITIL - Best Practices

ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) is an international reference defining the required procedures for an IT technology management centered on the user and on the service concept (IT Service Management).

ITIL is based on the companies Best Practices, collected by CCTA (Central Computing and Telecommunications Agency) assisted by associations like itSMF. It is a public method, not privately owned, which is neither linked to a provider, nor to a product.

ITIL is based on the collective experience of international consultants in the field of public or private IT projects. This coherent and reliable approach has become a de facto standard popular with the major participants in the international IT world.

The goal of ITIL is to allow a better use of IT resources, including:

  • Adapting IT services to current and future needs of the company and its customers
  • Improving the quality of the IT service provided
  • Reducing the long-term cost of providing IT service
